The Friends’ AGM will commence at 10.00am in the Dorothy Fox Centre in the Botanical Gardens and is open to all members.
Following the formal part of the meeting, we will be joined by Dave Cooke, the Programme and Impact Manager at nature-based Sheffield youth development charity Grow.
In his talk entitled "Grow: Growing Plants, Transforming People," Dave will provide an insight into how nature and horticulture can transform lives. He will share how Grow trainees use gardening and nature to create a productive and therapeutic green space on the Manor Estate, in Sheffield. He will discuss their vision for a greener workforce and how their work helps cultivate personal growth and positive change. A Q&A session will follow the talk.
Dave began his career in Buddhist contexts, focusing on social impact and community development. For the past two years at Grow, he has been part of developing and delivering Grow's work, which inspires hope and unlocks potential in young people.
