Join us for a garden tour to celebrate the Heritage Open Days Festival on Sunday 13th September.
The theme is ‘Everyday Lives’ and we will be introducing people who have been influential in the Gardens and running 30 minute tours to talk about them. They include Robert Marnock who laid out the Gardens, the son of a gardener who played on the Bear pit and the magnificently named Hephzibah Emma Butterworth who helped negotiate the sale of the Gardens to the Town Trust.
Tours will be at 11.30, 13.00, 14,00 and 15.00.
They will start at the Main Entrance on Clarkehouse Rd and are all free, no need to book.
A leaflet promoting a longer tour from Broomhall Library, through The Gardens and on to the General Cemetery will be available on the day.
