Heritage Open Days: Apothecary Tour

Join us for a fantasy tour of the Gardens, when you’ll be invited to imagine you are an apprentice apothecary at the end of the 19th century, looking for medicinal trees and plants.

This is a one-hour long public guided tour starting at 1pm. Meet at the Main Gatehouse on Clarkehouse Road at 12.50. There’s no need to book, although places may need to be limited to the first 20 people who turn up. The tour is part of the Heritage Open Days festival, which has the theme for 2021 of Edible England. Like all Heritage Open Day events, it is free to participate.

Please note that no information given about medicinal plants during this tour should be taken as expert advice or current good practice!
