Marnock Celebrations

The Gardens have been at the heart of the Celebrating Marnock festival this summer, thanks to our Education Co-ordinator Laura Alston. Last weekend saw four tours of the Gardens, looking at plants that were used by Marnock, who was the designer of the Gardens and our first curator. There was also a talk by Marnock expert Dr Jan Woudstra, workshops on Victorian flower arranging and a pocket Pollen Market.

These events were all complemented by the exhibition in the Dorothy Fox Education Centre of the original editions of Marnock’s Floricultural Magazine and information on his life and work. The exhibition will be open again next weekend.
