New Year for Volunteers

Head Gardener, Andrea, welcomed the gardening volunteers back and led the group on a tour of the Gardens. She explained the programme of work scheduled for this year. Activities already in progress are the building of new walls in the Marnock Garden, clearing overgrown shrubs in Osborn’s Field, repairs to the main steps from the Gatehouse, new planting in the Mediterranean Basin area near the Gatehouse. Also plans for the ‘tropical’ bed near the Pavilions, extension of the Mediterranean Climate Garden and the development of a Steppe Garden to compare with the revamped Prairie.
